Classic Christmas Icing Cookie Dough

par geedelsales1 03 Dec 2025 0 commentaire

Pressing out stars, Christmas trees, and snowmen with family is an indispensable holiday tradition. The success of these cookies begins with a well-mixed, finely textured dough. The mixing function of your Geedel food chopper perfectly creams the butter and sugar until light and evenly incorporates the flour, saving time and effort and making parent-child baking moments even more relaxed and enjoyable.

Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temperature

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1. Cream the butter and sugar:

Install the mixing paddle in the container of your Geedel manual vegetable chopper. Place the softened butter and sugar inside.

Close the lid tightly and turn the handle steadily for 1–2 minutes until the mixture becomes pale in color and fluffy in texture. This is the foundation for the cookies’ crisp texture.

2. Add the wet ingredients:

Open the lid and add the egg and vanilla extract. Close the lid again and turn the handle until the egg is fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.

3. Mix in the dry ingredients:

Combine the flour and salt. Open the lid and add about half of the flour mixture to the container. Close the lid and pulse the handle a few times at low speed until the flour just disappears. Repeat with the remaining flour until the dough just comes together. Do not overmix.

4. Shape and chill:

Remove the dough, divide it into two equal portions, and shape into flat discs. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Roll out the chilled dough, cut into shapes with cookie cutters, and bake as usual.

Summary:

The key to perfect cut-out cookies is an even, fine-textured dough. The mixing paddle of the Geedel hand vegetable chopper provides enough power to cream the butter and allows for gentle, pulsed mixing of the flour, ensuring the dough is uniform without becoming overworked. It is a reliable helper for recreating classic holiday memories.
